    Friday, Sept. 1, 2023 - Opening Night Celebration

     

    6-9pm - Grapefruit Is Impossible & Hot Pot!

     

    With a welcome by Brianna Bear, drumming by Gordy Bear, performances by renowned local emcee JBird McLaughlin, and music by Hot Pot and Grapefruit Is Impossible, you won't want to miss this one-of-a-kind summer evening event!

  • Accessibility and Site Information

    Jackson Park (near Quadra and Tolmie)

    Access:

    You can access the park by turning east onto Tolmie from Quadra Street, or north onto Jackson from Finlayson Street.

    • Jackson Street connects with the Graham and Vancouver street bike lanes, and Tolmie connects with the Galloping Goose. Bike parking will be available on site.
    • Bus #8 serves Finlayson Street infrequently. Bus #6 has very frequent service on Quadra Street.

    Washrooms: One standard and one accessible port-a-potty will be available on site.

     

    Food and Water: Please note that there won't be any food vendors at the festival, so please bring food and a water bottle with you. Water bottle filling stations will be available.

     

    Seating: Please bring a chair or blanket if you're not comfortable sitting on the grass, as only very limited seating will be available.

     

    Terrain: The festival grounds are made up of flat grassy fields, with low hills in some areas. There are no stairs in the park.

     

    Weather: Please dress for the weather, and remember to bring sunscreen and a hat or rain gear if necessary.

     

    Info Booths: There will be one info booth located near the playground with harm reduction supplies available. Here is a downloadable PDF version of the schedule that's easy to print at home or at your local library.

    The Community Art Hub is located around the back of the Quadra Village Community Centre at 901 Kings Road (enter from Dowler Street).
